General description

The Sekonic L-308X Flashmate is a compact handheld light meter for checking exposure with ambient light or flash. Its sliding dome allows you to switch between incident and reflected light readings without changing equipment.

The photography and cinema modes make it easy to use for different types of capture. The backlit display helps you view readings in dark scenes, while its portable format makes it practical to take along during shoots and location visits.
Modular design and compatibility
  • Optional Lumidisc for the Sekonic L-308 series, required for measuring illuminance.
  • Optional sync cable compatible with the photometer terminal.
  • Measurement of externally fired flashes in wireless flash mode.
Workflow and connectivity

Select the capture mode and enter the corresponding sensitivity and shutter settings. Measure next to the subject to assess the incident light or slide the light sphere to take a reflected reading; transfer the reading to the camera settings.

For flash, use a compatible sync cable or enable wireless mode and fire the flash from the external equipment. To measure illuminance, attach the optional Lumidisc and select the corresponding function.
