General description

The RICOH GR IV HDF is based on the GR IV platform and adds a built-in Highlight Diffusion Filter (HDF). This filter diffuses highlights and reduces apparent contrast in those areas, allowing you to switch between a sharp and a softer rendering directly from the camera.

It retains the approximately 25.74 MP APS-C sensor, the 28 mm equivalent fixed focal length, 5-axis stabilization, and 53 GB of internal memory from the GR IV platform.

Modular design and compatibility
  • RICOH GR IV HDF.
  • DB-120 battery.
  • microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC UHS-I cards.
  • Ricoh GF-2 external flash.
  • GA-3 adapter and GW-4 lens.
  • GR WORLD app.
Workflow and connectivity

The HDF is controlled directly from the camera, allowing you to decide whether to use it before shooting. The rest of the workflow remains within the GR IV ecosystem: internal memory or a microSD card for storage, USB Type-C for transferring files, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth for connecting to GR WORLD.

Recommended applications
  • Street photography with soft highlights.
  • Portraits and scenes with light sources.
  • Night photography.
  • Urban and travel photography.
  • Content creation with a cinematic aesthetic.
  • Creative in-camera photography.
