General description

The Genelec 8020D is a two-way active studio monitor for nearfield listening. It offers a balance between size and sonic capability for production environments where accurate reproduction is needed without installing large enclosures.

Its DCW waveguide helps control directivity and the stereo image. The Iso-Pod base makes positioning easy, while the response settings allow you to adapt the monitor's performance to its location.

Workflow and connectivity

In an editing or mixing setup, send the monitor output from the interface or console to the XLR input of the Genelec 8020D. For stereo, connect each channel to its own monitor and power both units.

Aim the monitors toward the listening position using the Iso-Pod base and adjust their response controls according to the placement. The built-in amplification reproduces the received signal without an external power amplifier.
