Classic design and agile operation
The design of the Fujifilm X-T30 III is undoubtedly one of its greatest attractions. It retains the retro aesthetic of the X-T series, with dedicated top dials that facilitate agile and manual photography, all in a lightweight and compact body. It is an ideal camera for everyday use.
A key detail in the user experience is the lever that activates automatic mode, allowing for quick shots without worrying about manual settings.
The big news in this generation is the improved Film Simulation dial. It now includes three customizable positions: FS1, FS2, and FS3. These additional memories are perfect for setting your own "film recipes" or preset configurations for photo or video. If you are a Fujifilm Film Simulation enthusiast, you will appreciate this quick and customizable access.
The screen remains tiltable, making it easy to capture from high and low angles, although it is not articulated (it does not flip for vlogging or selfies).
High-level image quality, AF and video
The Fujifilm X-T30 III incorporates a 26.1MP sensor and the powerful X-Processor 5. This combination ensures fast performance when processing images, applying Fuji's addictive Film Simulations, and improves energy efficiency, exceeding 400 shots per charge.
The autofocus (AF) system is highly advanced, with improved deep learning-based algorithms. It is capable of accurately detecting and tracking faces, eyes, and a wide range of subjects such as animals, cars, motorcycles, and trains, a turning point for action and documentary photography. Images can be captured in JPEG or RAW formats.
As for video, the X-T30 III does not fall behind, offering recording in resolutions up to 6K at 30p or 4K at 60p, in addition to a slow-motion mode in 1080p at 240p. All with 4:2:2 10-bit subsampling and support for F-Log/F-Log 2 log profiles for professional grading.
Camaralia's opinion: a giant for Photo and Video
The Fujifilm X-T30 III is a solid refresh. While it is not a radical change, the improvements in the processor, autofocus, and Film Simulation dial make it highly recommended. It is a little giant ideal for both photography and video.
