Photowalk in Seville with Ricoh GR: “Entering the Scene” with Raúl Díaz

Photowalk en Sevilla con Ricoh GR: «Entrar en la escena» con Raúl Díaz

On November 4, we’re hitting the streets of Seville with Raúl Díaz and the Ricoh GR IV and GR IIIx. An opportunity to learn how to anticipate, get closer, and engage with your surroundings.

Street photography isn’t learned just by looking at photos. It’s learned by walking, getting the distance wrong, waiting for a scene that may never arrive, and finally understanding when it’s worth taking the shot.

This is the idea behind the Camaralia Photowalk in Seville with Ricoh GR, an in-person urban photography event taking place on November 4, 2026 with photographer Raúl Díaz. It’s the first street photography event in his “GR Universe,” and we’re organizing it with the support of Reflecta.

“Enter the Scene”: What This Photowalk Is All About

The event’s motto sums up its approach: be present, recognize what is about to happen, and find the distance from which a photograph begins to make sense.

During the walk, we’ll work on three key concepts of street photography:

  • Anticipation: read the scene before it unfolds and be ready for the moment.
  • Proximity: overcome the fear of getting closer and decide which distance best tells the story.
  • Engagement with the surroundings: integrate people, light, and architecture into a single image.

The camera is designed as a discreet tool for getting closer to what’s happening and making decisions as you walk.

What a Photowalk Is and Why It Works

A photowalk is a group photography walk: you go out with other enthusiasts, practice in real-world situations, and learn directly from your guide on the ground. No classroom or endless theory. You practice, ask questions, and make adjustments on the fly.

It’s also a great way to meet other photographers in Seville, share perspectives, and leave with new ideas for your own work.

Try the Ricoh GR IV and Ricoh GR IIIx During the Walk

One of the event’s highlights: participants can try the cameras during the photowalk. We’ll have two models from the GR series, a benchmark in street photography thanks to their compact size, speed, and discretion:

  • Ricoh GR IV: an APS-C compact camera with a 28 mm f/2.8 prime lens, designed for wide scenes and context.
  • Ricoh GR IIIx: an APS-C compact camera with a 40 mm equivalent focal length, offering a tighter, more selective view.

Two focal lengths, two ways of seeing. Trying them on the street under the guidance of someone who uses them every day is the best way to find out which one suits your style.

Who It’s For

Anyone interested in street photography, regardless of which camera they use. What matters is your attitude: observing, experimenting, and wanting to learn.
